Doctor's Assistant
Hi, my name is Laura Campos, and I am a Doctor's Assistant and Receptionist at Port of Los Angeles Animal ER. With more than twenty years in this field, my focus is on helping both pets and their people feel looked after.
Personal Hobbies and Interests
At home there is one cat and one chihuahua who get thoroughly spoiled, along with a variety of reptiles, amphibians, and fish.
Why I Chose This Profession
Having always loved animals, I knew from an early age that my career would help animals in some form or another.
Education
Studied Animal Health Science at Cal Poly Pomona.
Professional Background
Graduated high school in 2005 and began work as a veterinary assistant. Over more than twenty years in this field, my roles have moved between receptionist, veterinary assistant, and doctor's assistant. The first years were spent in general practice hospitals, then in 2018 came a shift into emergency medicine. Continuing to expand my knowledge of veterinary medicine remains a priority whenever the opportunity comes up.
